St. Andrew's CofE (aided) Primary School

Inspire a love of learning and enjoy 'life in all its fullness', ensuring that everyone can flourish and be the best they can be. John 10:10

Welcome to the PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) and RSE (Relationships and Health Education) area of our school website.
Here you will find information about how PSHE is taught here at St. Andrew's through a widely used scheme of work provided by Jigsaw PSHE, through additional learning resources provided by Brighton and Hove and how it is woven into other aspects of school life as well as our school ethos.
We aim to equip our pupils with lifelong skills that will enable to them to flourish personally and socially in all that they do.
ACHIEVE: We equip our children with practical and mental tools which will help them in decision making, will enable them to learn positively and will navigate them through important transitions they encounter in their lives.
JOY: Our children are provided with age-appropriate knowledge, understanding, skills and strategies required to live and enjoy healthy, safe, productive, responsible and balanced lives. We want them to find joy and wonder in all they do.
CARE: Through PSHE, we help our pupils to develop a deep understanding of themselves, to celebrate difference and diversity, and to form and maintain positive relationships. We help them develop essential skills for the future in which they can better enjoy and manage their lives alongside others.
WORSHIP: Our PSHE curriculum lays the foundations for the children to enjoy the best kind of future within our diverse world in order that they can flourish and live fulfilled lives. All our children are unique and wonderfully made; we want them to cherish themselves and others.
Please do take the time to view our RSE information video made especially for parents & carers which will outline the recent changes to this aspect of the PSHE curriculum and will give you a better understanding of how we have responded to these changes. We welcome your views and your questions via the Parent / Carer survey that can be found on the right-hand side of this page.
