Admissions Arrangements for September 2023

We are a Church of England school and, as such, the Governors at St Andrew's CE Primary School are the admissions authority for the school and Brighton and Hove City Council's School Admissions Team coordinate the process on their behalf.  Parents must apply for to the Council for admission to the school via their website Brighton and Hove School Admissions.

Our Published Admissions Number (PAN) for 2023 is 90.

Prior to making your application, we invite you to visit our school.  Please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a visit.   We feel that this the best way to experience the life of our school during the school day.

Key Dates Closing date for applications National Offer Day
15th January 2023

17th April 2023

Offers will be made via email, unless you applied using a paper form, meaning your offer will be sent by post.

Oversubscription Criteria

When the school is oversubscribed, priority for admission will be given to those children who meet our over-subscription criteria (see below).   For details of how places were allocated in 2022 please see Allocation of Places in September 2022.

Applications for a Foundation Place (if you attend Church)

If you are applying for a Foundation place at our school under criteria 3 or 4 you must also complete our Supplementary Information and Church Reference Form (see below).  Please read the Governors' over-subscription criteria and additional notes carefully and decide which number on the criteria applies to your application.  Please note that the requirement for church attendance has been amended (and approved by the Office of the Schools Adjudicator) due to the Covid-19 pandemic: church attendance will only apply to the period when the church or relevant place of worship or alternative premises have been available for public worship.

What happens if you apply late?

It is less likely that you will be offered a place at one of your preferred schools and you may have to wait to get an offer after National Offer Day. If there is a good reason why the school application is late, we will consider it as on time if we receive it by 8th March. You must provide independent supporting evidence of the good reason, or your application will be treated as late.

Please see the Brighton and Hove website: Brighton and Hove - Late Applications
